Grass Roots is partnering with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) on a special project to drive continuous professional development in the automotive sector. This initiative for continuing professional development (CPD) is open to all individuals working in the motor industry whether they are automotive professionals, working on the retail side of the business, in manufacturing or workshops, as well as those involved motor industry training or teaching. Existing IMI members are entitled to discounted rates on a range of courses.
We teamed up with the Institute to create the content and commercial framework around this new learning gateway, which enables people to plan, book and log CPD activity.
Grass Roots is one of a small group of CPD delivery partners involved in the prgramme. We will deliver a selection of face-to-face training courses to meet a wide range of needs, with special focus on supporting delegates to attain the Automotive Management Accreditation (AMA).
Members can go onto the learning gateway, get an overview of all courses on offer, look at the calendar listings and request a place on the training course of their choice. The exclusive portfolio will be delivered via a variety of learning methods – face-to-face, workshops, webinars and eLearning. Many of the courses are held at the IMI’s Prince Michael conference centre and each CPD activity has a given credit value that builds towards the individual’s total qualification target. Training with a measured output (e.g. a test or exam) is given a higher credit value than un-assessed activities like reading or attending a conference.
Through CPD anyone working in the motor retail industry can plan and book the next stage of their professional development. They can purchase CPD activities and have the opportunity to sign up to the IMI Professional Register, which will, over time, make the hard work of CPD worthwhile to the professional – and very visible to their customers and potential employers.
Our established association with the IMI ensures that our learning programmes for automotive clients are leading edge, meet industry needs, are aligned with the competency framework for the sector and enable delegates to take their development to the next level.
More details of the CPD initiative can be found on the IMI website and on our News page.
