Collations and fulfilment
Our warehouse facilities include the Bellis House complex, a modern building on an industrial estate adjacent to the A41, which runs uninterrupted from the M25.
The warehouse serves three principal purposes:
- It enables us to receive and hold material for collation and despatch, carried out at a facility adjacent to the main storage area
- It enables us to store client promotional material for distribution on request
- It enables us to keep inventory of award items where there is predictable demand
Security
There is a 10,000 square ft secure caged area, maintained under conditions of high security. Access is only possible with an access tag, issued to key staff. The system identifies and reports every entry, recording the duration of stay and highlighting any instances where access is denied.
There is out-of-hours protection by means of PIR detectors on each aisle and access; these are monitored by ADT 24 hours a day and by our own security guards who attend all callouts.
Systems
Every part of our business is governed by the procedures that are part of our ISO 9001 accreditation. In the case of the warehouse, there are also significant Health & Safety requirements.
The following illustrates the detail and rigour of our arrangements with clients.
- Individual boxes delivered to the warehouse must be sealed and secure
- Where goods are on pallets, the pallets must be of the standard ‘Euro’ specification to match our racking system
- Each delivery is booked in, identified by client, by type of goods and by quantities in boxes and/or pallets
- Each consignment must be accompanied by a delivery note that specifies the origin, nature and detail of the goods
- Our ISO 9001 systems include monthly stock takes, location audits and storage charging
Service
Our preferred carrier is UPS, who deliver throughout the UK on a 24-hour service and into Europe on a 24-hour or 48-hour service. They offer timed deliveries, and there are full ‘track and trace’ facilities on all despatches.
Distribution is controlled by an online inventory system called ILS, which connects with our internal online order processing and the UPS ‘World Ship’ system. The result is a seamless and integrated service, which includes accurate charge back of duty (where applicable).
