The government is continuing to encourage economical and environmentally friendly transport to and from work. Where walking is not an option, bicycles are the clear favourite; the bikes4me scheme takes legitimate advantage of the significant financial concessions that the government is prepared to make.
Grass Roots has been successfully operating bike4work for many years now. In partnership with Halfords and other providers and we offer a convenient ‘Select and Collect’ system.
Employees receive details of the scheme from their employer, explaining that they can secure the use of a cycle on very advantageous terms provided that its use is at least 50% work-related. They log on to the bike4work website, talk to our call centre or visit a branch of our scheme partner to select the cycle that best meets their needs and their budget. A form consenting to the deduction of the appropriate amount of gross salary over a period - usually 12 months - is then completed.
The form is sent to Grass Roots, we process the necessary minimal paperwork and send the employee a voucher which they then take to the retailer to collect the cycle - it couldn't be easier.
