care-4 - childcare voucher scheme

Print

Working parents now gain relief from both income tax and National Insurance Contributions on the first £243 per month (£55 per week) paid to a Registered or Approved Carer under a ‘salary sacrifice’ arrangement. This can yield annual net savings of up to £1,195.

care-4 is the UK’s premier childcare payment system, an ‘electronic voucher’ for working parents to pay approved carers efficiently and cost-effectively. To benefit from the scheme, employees commit to regular childcare payment by means of a ‘salary sacrifice’ implemented via their employer’s payroll. The employer’s NI contribution on this amount is refunded.

A sum equivalent to the ‘salary sacrifice’ is placed in a secure care-4 account and made available for childcare payments to designated, eligible carers by simple telephoned instructions without the administration and hassle of paper vouchers.
