David Evans has combined a sound education, a degree in Economics and an MBA (before it became fashionable) with what he describes as his long apprenticeship to be an entrepreneur. Having savoured the high life of advertising, he took up the challenge of factory management before working for a US company in the incentive business. This company was later to become part of the Grass Roots Group. From its beginnings on the 1st of April 1980 in a basement office behind London’s Oxford Street, Grass Roots has come far.

Today David is Chairman and Chief Executive of The Grass Roots Group with offices around the world, employing over 1000 people, billing some £265 million annually and with over 2000 active clients. He is seen as a senior and influential figure in the field of motivation, and is regularly called upon by the media for quotes and opinions. He has pioneered work in disability awareness, diversity understanding and childcare provision, and in 2006 and 2007 was listed in HR Magazine's top 100 influencers.

In 2008 David was awarded an MBE for services to corporate social responsibility and in 2009 was made a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts and a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management.
